2ND DEGREE BLACK BELT
Black belt awarded following approval from Cobrinha — the most decorated black belt in BJJ history
Trained extensively with World and Pan Am champions in the US and overseas
Taught Jiu-Jitsu full time for over 10 years
Competed in 30+ events locally and internationally, placing top 3 in most
I started martial arts in 2005 to compete in MMA, and later focused on Jiu-Jitsu. Once I'd outgrown what Regina could offer, I traveled regularly to train with Jason Gagnon and his team, which brought my understanding of the art to the next level. In 2015 I opened Regina BJJ to build the program and environment I wished had existed here at home — proof that world-class Jiu-Jitsu is possible even on the Canadian prairies, if you're willing to pursue it.
Not a boot camp. Not a birthday party.

What Parents Notice First
-
“My son’s progress here has honestly surprised me. The biggest reason is the coach. He genuinely cares about each kid, stays calm and positive, and somehow gets a room full of energetic children to actually listen and focus. The sessions are well structured too, with real instruction and drilling mixed in with enough fun that the kids never lose interest. Since my son started, I’ve noticed him carrying himself with more confidence, and his coordination and discipline have come a long way.
If you’re a parent weighing your options, this is an easy one to recommend.”

“Regina BJJ has been an amazing experience for my son and he truly enjoys every class. There are plenty of assistant coaches who provide excellent guidance and support to the students. John is incredibly patient, kind, and professional, creating a welcoming environment for kids to learn and grow. He also holds the kids accountable for their behavior, which I respect. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a positive and well-structured martial arts program.”
