"After being involved in Regina's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community for several years, my friends and I began venturing out to experience the martial art we fell in love with in some of the best facilities in the world which were run or influenced by renown world champions and their teams that made a mark in this sport."
"We were amazed by the level of Jiu-Jitsu at these facilities both in the overall technical prowess of their teams and in how the classes were taught and structured. Humbled by our findings, we returned extremely passionate and motivated to put in the long hours to bring our skill level to the international standard.
Over the years we continued making trips to these places to experience a community of people who were just as passionate about Jiu-Jitsu as we were and to be able to train multiple times a day. I saw my own progress greatly improve and Jiu-Jitsu began to encompass everything I thought about and spent my free time on.
No vacations. No days off. Just training.
At that time in my life there was not as much training time available in Regina, especially twice a day, and I could see how living the 'Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle' and being able to strive passionately at something with no restraint was improving my life, my health and my community. I wasn't willing to just let Jiu-Jitsu be something I did part-time and began to cultivate my vision for creating the type of environment right here at home that my friends and I were all traveling to experience.
Some years later, following some amazing timing and support from our friends and family, I set in motion to do just that and opened the doors to our facility in February of 2016.
From the beginning I wanted to do it right and went all in. First impressions are everything.
I made sure this was a spacious environment dedicated solely to Jiu-Jitsu, purchased the highest quality mats, offered the most available training time in Regina and created a modern curriculum that teaches both self defense and competition Jiu-Jitsu that is on par with today's international standard. I wanted clean, technical training partners that are working together to reach their personal goals rather than congregate a group of people who try to be better than one another, and we're currently building an amazing team of adult and child athletes that personify that desire.
In my journey I experienced first hand how Jiu-Jitsu and it's community has the potential to improve the lives of those around us, so I reinvest our club's profits into team events for our members like barbecues, MMA nights, board game nights and the rest back into our facility and programs to spread our love of Jiu-Jitsu to reach as many people as possible.
Our first year of operation is what I consider a major success with the implementation of a popular adult and kids program and we're just getting started.
We look forward to improving our community, our product, our brand, and the health and lifestyles of those who train with us as we continue building and bringing the highest level of today's Jiu-Jitsu to Regina and abroad."
